DAY 62

DATE:  3/3/2013

Good Morning!  My name is Nola Hyatte and I was asked to give you a devotional thought from the book of I John Chapters 1 and 2.

KEY VERSE:

I John 1:1-2: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our own eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of Life. For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us.

REFLECTIONS:

Here John writes to us about the Word of God (Jesus Christ), who has existed from the very beginning.  John has heard Him and has seen Him and John’s hands have touched Him.  John is offering encouragement to us, the readers, to live in fellowship with God and His Son, Jesus Christ.  Through John’s eyes, His life becomes visible so that we can speak of Him and we can receive eternal life.  This is an announcement to the saved and to the lost alike.

APPLICATION:

As this was a testimony of Christ, we are to be on guard of our testimony on a daily basis – to be in obedience to Him and to apply the teachings of His Word to our faith, growing in our relationship with Christ, and being a light set upon a hill to a lost and dying world.  In the end of our journey through this life, staying true to God will be worth it all.

Thank you for being a part of the Route 66 Bible Reading Challenge.  Thanks for reading, and you have a blessed day!

In Christ,

Nola
