DAY 6
DATE: 1/6/13
Good Morning! My name is Jason Butcher and I was asked to give you a devotional thought from the book Joshua chapters 1and 2.
KEY VERSE: Joshua 1:5 There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
REFLECTIONS: The first two chapters are very exciting, yet scary, for Joshua and the Israelites. Moses, the leader of the Israelites, has just died and now they are finally going into the Promised Land. God has picked Joshua to be the new leader of His chosen people. I’m sure Joshua was at least a little nervous, if he is anything like me. I can be a little uncomfortable in new situations. And here he is, leading hundreds of thousands of people into a strange land with giants! But what does God tell him? “I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” Isn’t it reassuring to know that the same God who told Joshua that, still tells us that today? I don’t know what area of your life the Lord is telling you that in. Maybe it’s a ministry in church He wants you to get involved in. Or maybe it’s a lost friend or family member he wants you to speak to. Don’t be afraid, put your trust in Him and He will work through you. You never know the blessing you may receive by doing whatever it is He’s been prompting you to do.
REFLECTION: Step out in faith and believe what God promises. He will ALWAYS be there for you and NEVER fail you.
Thank you for being a part of the Route 66 Challenge. Thanks for reading, and you have a blessed day.
