Good Morning! My name is Crystal Koepke and I was asked to give you a devotional thought from the book of Hosea 10 and 11.
Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, Reap in Mercy; Break up your fallow ground: For it is time to seek the Lord, Till he come and rain righteousness upon you.
The middle part of the key verse has been resonating with me for the last couple of months: “For it is time to seek the Lord.” These verses move more clearly to a future in which God will again act in gracious ways. The context here is clearly a time when the people are scattered and exiled away from the land. The threats of previous verses have long been a reality here. The experience of defeat and humiliation, the failure of the gods they worshipped to help them, have brought them to a position where they can acknowledge God. Isn’t that where much of the world is? Seeking something or someone but not yet acknowledging who or what it is? Hosea calls on us to “Seek the Lord.” We are then assured He will rain righteousness upon us once He comes. I don’t know about you, but I am so ready for that “Rain of Righteousness!!” We should all be ready! But until then, we must continue to seek and tell others how they too should seek and be ready for their own “Rainshower.”
Daily Seek the Lord. Remember His assurances. Know that He loves you and wants nothing more than for you to spend eternity with you.
