DAY 26

DATE: 1/26/2013

Good Morning!  My name is Heather Smith and I was asked to give you a devotional thought from the book of Ezekiel 18 and 37.

KEY VERSE:

Ezekiel 18:32  For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies, declares the Lord GOD.  Therefore, repent and live.

REFLECTIONS:

Ezekiel 18

If a man obeys the commands of the Lord and lives a righteous life, he will be blessed of the Lord.  He will have a fruitful life.  However, if a man chooses to disregard God’s Word, and take his own path in life, he will have a life of complete destruction.

Ezekiel 37

The children of Israel in captivity were represented by the dry bones.  The Jews were scattered and were in utter despair.  Symbolically, this story gives a picture of how Israel will be restored in the future with the Messiah as their King.  This has not yet taken place, but it could happen sooner than we think!

APPLICATION:

If I personally want God’s blessing on my life as opposed to Satan’s destruction, I must follow God’s commands.  Even though Israel has disregarded God’s commands, because of God’s mercy, Israel will be restored during the millennial reign of Christ.

Thank you for being a part of the Route 66 Challenge.  Thanks for reading, and you have a blessed day.

In Christ,

Heather Smith
